Terms of Service
Last updated: July 5, 2026
These terms explain the deal between you and PracticalStack when you buy or use a HiveNest license. We have kept them short and readable.
1. Who we are and what these terms cover
PracticalStack ("we", "us") builds and sells software, including HiveNest, a plugin for WordPress sites running HivePress. These terms apply when you use the PracticalStack website, buy a license, or use a HiveNest license key. If you do not agree with them, please do not purchase or use a license.
HiveNest itself works without a license for one active rule. You only need to accept these paid-license terms if you buy a Single Site or Unlimited Sites license.
2. Licenses are annual subscriptions
Paid HiveNest licenses are sold as yearly subscriptions:
- Single Site — $10/year, one site.
- Unlimited Sites — $60/year, unlimited sites.
A license grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use HiveNest's paid features on the number of sites your plan allows, for as long as the subscription is active. Prices and plan details are shown on the pricing page.
3. License keys and site activations
When you buy a license you receive a license key in the HNST-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXformat. Activating the key in WordPress registers the site's URL against your license and unlocks unlimited active rules on that site.
- A Single Site license may be active on one site at a time. To move it, deactivate the old site first, then activate the new one.
- An Unlimited Sites license may be activated on any number of sites you own or manage.
- Deactivating a site frees its slot and never deletes your license or your saved rules.
4. No sharing or reselling keys
Your license key is for your own sites (or sites you build and manage for clients). You may not sell, sublicense, publish, or share your key so that others can unlock HiveNest without their own license. Distributing keys or deliberately working around activation limits is a breach of these terms and may result in the key being disabled.
5. Payments and renewals
Online checkout is not live yet. Today, purchases are arranged with us directly. When online checkout becomes available, payments will be processed by Stripe; PracticalStack does not see or store your full card details.
Once online subscriptions are enabled, annual licenses are intended to renew automatically each year until you cancel. You will be able to cancel at any time, and cancellation stops future renewals — see the Refund Policy for how cancellations and refunds work.
6. Compatibility limitations
HiveNest depends on WordPress and HivePress and works in Safe Mode — it shows and hides fields that HivePress already renders. Because those platforms, your theme, and other plugins change over time, we cannot guarantee HiveNest will work with every possible combination or every future version.
We aim to keep HiveNest compatible with current WordPress and HivePress releases, but you are responsible for testing it on your own site and keeping backups. The Compatibility Check screen inside the plugin can help you spot common issues.
7. Service availability
We work to keep the PracticalStack website and license API available, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. HiveNest is designed to keep working on your site even if the license server is briefly unreachable — it caches your license status locally and never disables your rules just because it cannot reach us. We may perform maintenance or make changes that cause temporary downtime.
8. Support boundaries
Support covers HiveNest itself: installation, license activation, rule setup, and conditional-field behavior on HivePress submit and edit forms. We provide support by email on a reasonable-effort basis.
Support does not include:
- Custom development, theme work, or building your site for you.
- Debugging unrelated plugins, themes, or server configuration.
- Guaranteed response or resolution times.
See the contact page for how to reach us and what to include.
9. Open-source and WordPress plugin note
HiveNest is a WordPress plugin and its PHP code is distributed under the GNU General Public License (GPL). Nothing in these terms limits or removes any rights granted to you by the GPL or any other applicable open-source license. Where these terms and an applicable open-source license conflict regarding the licensed code, the open-source license governs that code. These terms still apply to your license key, your subscription, and your use of our website and services.
10. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
HiveNest and the PracticalStack website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent allowed by law. We do not warrant that the software will meet all your requirements or be free of bugs.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, PracticalStack is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for lost data, revenue, or profits. Where we are found liable, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the license in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
11. Abuse, suspension, and termination
We may suspend or disable a license key, or stop providing service, if a license is used in a way that breaks these terms — for example sharing or reselling keys, attempting to bypass activation limits, fraud or chargeback abuse, or activity that harms our systems or other users.
You may stop using HiveNest at any time. Because the plugin's code is GPL, you can keep the plugin files; however, a disabled or expired license will not unlock the paid features.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product and our services evolve. When we do, we will change the "last updated" date above. Continuing to use a license after an update means you accept the revised terms.
