HiveNest guide
Create a conditional attribute rule.
A rule connects one parent selection to the child attributes that should appear, hide, or become required while visible.
Rules overview
The Rules screen shows each rule name, active status, trigger attribute, condition, child fields, form scope, and available actions.
- Step 1: Open the HiveNest rules screen and choose Add Rule.
- Step 2: Name the rule after the workflow it controls, such as Property details for apartments.
- Step 3: Select the parent HivePress attribute that users answer first.
- Step 4: Choose the condition and value that should activate the rule.
- Step 5: Select the child attributes that should appear when the condition matches.
- Step 6: Mark child fields as conditionally required only when they must be completed while visible.
- Step 7: Save the rule, clear caches if needed, and test both listing submit and edit forms.
Testing checklist
Test the rule with a matching value, a non-matching value, a new listing submission, and an existing listing edit. Hidden required fields should not block submission when they are hidden.
